Home Maintenance Services
We think of repairs when something is broken and needs fixing, but the best repairs happen long before that point. That little extra bit of grout, or gutter flashing when the old one gets tired will save you a much bigger repair job later down the line. A lick of paint or testing the strength of those steps and banisters will pay off and thinking about aging members (or newly arriving members) of your family is sooner or later going to become important so small modifications like adding handrails and safety barriers. We do all of that because we're strong believers that you have to look after your home if you want your home to look after you.
Kitchens are the heart and soul of a home and take a lot of wear and tear. Drawers that should slide smoothly out stop doing so. Units with revolving spice racks grind to a halt. Corner units that should have swivel out shelves sulk in their corners. Backsplashes get chipped, things get dropped on the floor, and that's before we get to the issues of plumbing and drainage. So there is always a host of small jobs that are needed to keep kitchens looking good and performing to the best of their ability.
Broken tiles, leaky faucets and blocked drains are just a few of the problems that pop up every year from bathrooms but there are a few other things that are less obvious but just as important to keep an eye on in your personal rooms and utility rooms. Drying vents, for example, are often overlooked but a build up of lint not only interferes with their performance (and increases your electricity bill) but can eventually become a fire hazard. Our maintenance service will make sure that not only is the water in your bathrooms only found where it should be but that everything else is working as safely and smoothly as you'd like it to be.
Out of sight, out of mind, but what's going on in the attic should be a matter of maintenance. Attics typically give us the interior access to the roof and that can be a site of any number of indications that there are leaks or holes, or dislodged roofing materials. Attic checks can pick up problems with the guttering that may not be visible from an outside check. Attics are also a key part of your heat insulation and often house the oldest and least checked electrics in your house. All good reasons to have our helpful handyman pay a visit to the top room in the house.
Gutters, window sills, ledges, pools, fire pits, decks, verandas, banisters, gazebos and pergolas are all part of our regular maintenance services as we check the functional (drainage for example) as well as the decorative to make sure that the great outdoors isn't taking its toll on your great outdoor furniture. Sealants, pitch, wood oils, and paints will all play a part in keeping your repair bills to an absolute minimum, whatever the weather.
